Launching in January 2025, Japanese Buffet GONTAN sets a new standard for Japanese buffet dining in Vietnam. While initially considering expansion into Thailand, the team ultimately identified a greater opportunity in Vietnam, where the market lacked a comprehensive, authentic Japanese buffet concept.
Japanese Buffet GONTAN distinguishes itself through a wide-ranging menu that showcases the diversity of Japanese cuisine—from fresh sushi and sashimi to expertly grilled and simmered dishes. “Many restaurants focus on a single category of Japanese food, but we wanted to create a destination where guests could explore the full spectrum of flavors,” says Mr. Monobe.
A crucial factor in ensuring smooth operations was the selection of dependable kitchen equipment. “Having worked with Hoshizaki products in Japan, we had complete confidence in their performance and durability. Choosing Hoshizaki for our Vietnam location was a natural decision,” Mr. Monobe shares.
Looking ahead, Mr. Monobe hopes for continued collaboration with Hoshizaki. “Access to the complete Hoshizaki product lineup, comparable to what’s available in Japan, would greatly streamline our kitchen planning and expansion efforts.”
