INTRODUCTION
Zen BBQ traces its roots to a yakiniku
restaurant in Osaka, Japan, with a history
spanning more than 20 years. Built on a
passion for authentic Japanese cuisine, the
brand specializes in premium Wagyu beef
and traditional dishes such as yakiniku,
shabu-shabu, and sukiyaki.
Zen BBQ was brought to Vietnam through a
shared vision between its Japanese owner
and Mr. Quan, the brand’s representative in
Vietnam: to offer high-quality Japanese
cuisine while bringing the culture and spirit
of Japanese dining closer to local
customers.

Having previously lived and worked in Japan, Mr. Quan gained first-hand experience at the original restaurant and developed a close relationship with its owner. Their shared appreciation for Japanese cuisine later became the foundation for bringing Zen BBQ to the Vietnamese market.
Da Nang was selected as the brand’s first location in Vietnam because of the region’s historical ties with Japan through Hoi An, its strong tourism development, and growing demand for Japanese cuisine among both local residents and international visitors.
Committed to authentic Japanese quality, Zen BBQ is one of the pioneers offering all-you-can-eat Wagyu, known as tabehōdai, in Da Nang. To serve a diverse customer base, the restaurant has also introduced Japanese-style Hamburg steak and steak while maintaining its Japanese culinary identity.
Zen BBQ had already used Hoshizaki equipment and services in Japan. When expanding to Vietnam, the restaurant continued this partnership based on Hoshizaki’s reputation, reliability, and understanding of Japanese kitchen systems. Its professional working approach and responsive after-sales support have helped Zen BBQ navigate differences in local regulations, supplier systems, and operating practices.
Zen BBQ considers Hoshizaki a long-term partner. As the brand plans for future restaurant openings in Vietnam, it intends to continue working with Hoshizaki to maintain consistent standards and support stable kitchen operations.
